1And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Teacher, see what wonderful stones and buildings! 2Jesus said to him, Do you see these great buildings? there shall not be one stone left upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives across from the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4Tell us, when shall these things be? and what will be the sign that all these things are about to be fulfilled? 5And Jesus said to them, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6For many will come in my name, saying, I am he; and shall deceive many. 7And when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be troubled: for such things must happen; but the end is not yet. 8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in various places, and there shall be famines: these are the beginnings of birth pains. 9But take heed for yourselves: for they will deliver you up to councils; and you shall be beaten in the synagogues: and you shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them. 10And the gospel must first be preached among all nations. 11But when they bring you to trial, do not worry about what you shall say: but whatever is given to you in that hour, speak that: for it is not you who speaks, but the Holy Spirit. 12Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be, (let him who reads understand,) then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains: 15And let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter it to take anything out of his house: 16And let him who is in the field not turn back again for his cloak. 17But woe to those who are with child, and to those who are nursing infants in those days! 18Pray that your flight may not be in the winter. 19For in those days there shall be affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of God's creation to this time, nor ever shall be again. 20And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no one would be saved: but for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days. 21And then if any man says to you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, lo, there he is; do not believe him: 22For false Christs and false prophets shall arise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 23But take heed: behold, I have told you all things in advance. 24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then he shall send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the remotest part of the earth to the remotest part of heaven. 28Now learn a parable from the fig tree; When its branch becomes tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: 29Even so, when you see these things come to pass, know that it is near, even at the door. 30Truly I say to you, that this generation shall not pass away, until all these things have happened. 31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32But of that day and that hour no man knows, no, not even the angels which are in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Take heed, watch and pray: for you do not know when the time will come. 34It is like a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to each man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35Watch therefore: for you do not know when the master of the house comes, at evening, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36Lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping. 37And what I say to you I say to all, Watch.
