1And when they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sent forth two of his disciples, 2And said to them, Go into the village opposite you: as soon as you enter it, you shall find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 3And if any man says to you, What are you doing? say that the Lord has need of it; and will send it back immediately. 4And they went their way, and found the colt tied outside in the street by a door; and they untied it. 5And some of those who stood there said to them, What are you doing, untying the colt? 6And they said to them what Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. 7And they brought the colt to Jesus, and threw their garments on it; and he sat upon it. 8And many spread their garments on the road: and others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9And those who went ahead, and those who followed, cried out, Hosanna; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord: 10Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David: Hosanna in the highest. 11And Jesus entered Jerusalem, and went into the temple: and when he looked around at everything, he went out to Bethany with the twelve, since evening had come. 12On the next day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry: 13And seeing a fig tree far off with leaves, he went to it, to see if he might find something on it: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season for figs. 14And Jesus said to it, May no man ever eat fruit from you again. And his disciples heard it. 15And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold doves; 16And he would not allow any man to carry merchandise through the temple. 17And he taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? but you have made it a den of robbers. 18And the scribes and chief priests heard this, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people were astonished at his teaching. 19And when evening came, he went out of the city. 20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21And Peter remembered and said to him, Rabbi, behold, the fig tree which you cursed has withered away. 22And Jesus said to them, Have faith in God. 23For truly I say to you, That whoever shall say to this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he says. 24Therefore I say to you, Whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. 25And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone: that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive your trespasses. 26[But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.] 27And they came again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him, 28And said to him, By what authority do you do these things? and who gave you this authority to do these things? 29And Jesus answered them, I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? answer me. 31And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did you not believe him? 32But if we shall say, From men; they feared the people: for all held that John was indeed a prophet. 33So they answered and said to Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
