1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3We ought always to thank God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith grows abundantly, and the love of every one of you for each other grows greater; 4So that we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all the persecutions and tribulations which you endure: 5Which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you suffer. 6It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you; 7And to give rest to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, 8Taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9They shall be punished with eternal ruin and exclusion from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all those who believe, including you, because our testimony among you was believed. 11With this in mind we pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and would with power fulfill every good purpose and work of faith: 12That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
