1And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with lofty speech or wisdom as I declared to you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5That your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. 6Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are being brought to nothing: 7But we speak the wisdom of God, once secret and hidden, which God ordained for our glory before the ages: 8Wisdom which none of the rulers of this world understood: for had they understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him. 10But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For what man knows the thoughts of a man, except the spirit which is within the man? even so no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God. 13Of these things we speak, not in words taught by man's wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15He who is spiritual judges the worth of all things, yet he himself is judged by no man. 16For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
