In your kindness, O God, be gracious to me,
Wash me clean of my guilt,
For well I know my transgressions,
Against you, only you, have I sinned,
See! In guilt was I brought to the birth,
It’s the innermost truth you desire,
Purge me clean with hyssop,
Fill me with joy and gladness,
Hide your face from my sins,
Create me a clean heart, O God,
Cast me not forth from your presence,
Give me back the joy of your help,
I will teach your ways to transgressors,
Save me from blood, O God,
Open my lips, O LORD,
For in sacrifice you have no pleasure,
The sacrifice pleasing to God
Do good in your pleasure to Zion,
Then will you welcome the due forms of sacrifice,
