1 The LORD God has spoken: He summons the earth 2From Zion, perfection of beauty, 3Our God comes, he cannot keep silence, 4He summons the heavens above 5Gather to him his saints 6that the heavens may declare his justice, 7“Hear, O my people, and I will speak, 8Not for your sacrifices will I reprove you 9Not a bullock will I take from your house, 10for all beasts of the forest are mine, 11I know all the birds of the air, 12Were I hungry, I would not tell you, 13Am I such as to eat bulls’ flesh, 14Offer to God a thank-offering, 15Summon me in the day of distress, 16But to the wicked God says: 17While you yourself hate correction, 18When you see a thief, you run with them; 19You let your mouth loose for evil, 20You shamefully speak of your kin, 21And because I kept silence at this, 22Now you who forget God, mark this, 23Those who bring a thank-offering honour me;
