1 O LORD, you search and know me;¶ 2when I sit, when I rise you know it, 3When I walk, when I lie you sift it, 4There is not a word on my tongue, 5Behind and before you beset me, 6It’s too wonderful for me to know 7Whither shall I go from your spirit? 8If I climb up to heaven, you are there: 9If I lift up the wings of the morning 10there also your hand would grasp me, 11If I say, “Let the darkness cover me, 12The dark is not dark for you, 13For you did put me together; 14I give you praise for my fashioning 15my bones were not hidden from you, 16Your eyes saw all my days: 17But how far, O God, beyond measure 18Should I count, they are more than the sand. 19Will you slay the wicked, O God! 20who maliciously defy you 21Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD? 22With perfect hatred I hate them, 23Search me, O God, know my heart: 24and see if guile be in me;
